It is said that the roots of some trees go as wide as the widest branches, and as deep as the tree is tall. In other words, much of what comprises a tree is not readily visible to the casual observer. When we take refuge in its shade, gaze upon its beautiful foliage, listen to the song of the birds within its branches, or savor its delicious fruit, it is often easy to overlook the contribution of the parts below ground. Yet without roots, none of the things that we think of when we think of trees can take place.
So it is with our ministry here at All Saints. From the simplest of worship services to the complex choreography that goes into the Drive-Thru Living Nativity, nothing happens without the scores of individuals who choose to faithfully toil behind the scenes, often anonymously, in order to bring the work of All Saints to fruition. I am awed and astonished at how extensive our "root system" is, as I continually encounter the people of this congregation serving Jesus Christ.
Moving forward, we continue to work at building bridges to, and for the sake of, Jesus Christ our Lord. We continue striving to make our ministry a reflection of our core vaules, from what we do in worship, to what we do with our worship space, to what we do between Sundays.
May we continue in faith, rooted in Gospel, watered with prayer, nourished in worship; so that we may bear spiritual fruit worthy of our calling.
In Christ's service,
Council President Ted Beitelschees
