Services in September and October 2010

Oct. 31 - (Reformation Day) - "Something To Boast About." 2 Thessalonians 1:1-4, 11-12 - The powerful message of the Protestant Reformation is constant: Salvation is ours to receive, but it isn't ours to earn.

Oct. 24 - "Final Farewell." 2 Timothy 4:6-18 - St. Paul, in prison in Rome and close to death, had an opportunity to write his 'final farewell' to Timothy. He shares a message of confidence, peace and joy. What would you write?

Oct. 17 - "Soul Scanner." 2 Timothy 3:14 - 4:5 - God "discerns the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12), and despite what God sees, God nevertheless entrusts the treasure of the gospel to Christians to treasure and to share.

Oct. 10 - "Unnecessary Chatter." 2 Timothy 2:8-17a - As Christians, it's wise to keep our words simple and on message. When our speech gets off track, it can actually harm others!

Oct. 3 - "Why Church? Mentors." 2 Timothy 1:1-14 - (Fourth of four messages on the importance of worship.) Why go to church? Because people hunger for relationships with others who effectively model the Christian life: mentors!

Sept. 26 - "Why Church? Money Matters." 1 Timothy 6:6-19 (Third of four messages on why going to church is important.) Why contriubute to the support of your church? Because money is the 'currency of the heart.' It reflects our deepest values and commitments. Christians give as an act of faith, not obligation!

Sept. 19 - "Why Church? Real People." Luke 16:1-13 - (Second of four messages on why going to church is important.) Why attend church? Because this is where you'll encounter real people: not 'perfect,' but forgiven and faithful!
